About Dr. Maloney
Dr. Maloney holds a Bachelor's degree in psychology from Samford University and a doctorate degree in psychology from Tulane University. Before returning to her home state of Alabama to work in private practice, she worked as a psychology professor and clinical supervisor at Texas A&M University - Commerce.
Dr. Maloney specializes in the treatment of children, adolescents, and young adults who are struggling with anxiety, mood, and adjustment disorders. She provides individual therapy, parent consultation, and parent-child relationship therapy utilizing a primarily cognitive-behavioral framework. Dr. Maloney is also trained in play therapy for young children.
Dr. Maloney has worked on several recent research projects studying the development of anxiety disorders and psychological reactions to traumatic events. She also remains active in the training of future mental health professionals.
