About Melissa DeLong
Melissa DeLong is a Licensed Graduate Social Worker, providing psychotherapy to individuals, couples, and families. She has experience working with clients of all ages, in outpatient and inpatient mental health settings, as well as in private practice. Ms. DeLong has treated a variety of struggles, including depression, anxiety, body image issues, eating disorders, physical/emotional/sexual abuse, PTSD, relationship issues, family conflicts, grief and loss, Bipolar Disorder, Borderline Personality Disorder, Schizophrenia, substance use disorders, and coping with chronic illness and disability.
Ms. DeLong received graduate supervision in psychodynamic psychotherapy, with a focus on the psychoanalytic theories of self psychology and object relations. Her therapeutic approach blends the above theoretical background with the techniques of person-centered therapy, Gestalt therapy, and existential therapy. Ms. DeLong feels it an honor to support her clients through their unique challenges and experiences and finds great fulfillment in this process.
